PROMOTING LABOUR MOBILITY
|
WE MAKE APPRENTICES MOBILE! Discover Europe with an internship and gain experience abroad during your apprenticeship! |
|
For many years, the companies of the “Stiftung Bildung & Handwerk” (Education and Craft Foundation) have been taking advantage of the opportunity of allowing their apprentices to participate in mobility through exchange programmes. We find mobility in all areas of life and vocational mobility, in particular, an essential prerequisite in order to succeed on the European labour market of the future.
Time spent studying or working abroad has been shown to have a positive effect on individuals regarding the development of technical, intercultural and language skills. Apprentices’ time spent learning and working abroad is also advantageous for companies, since they can, for example, benefit from new contacts. In addition, companies gain prestige and present themselves as open towards the challenges of the internationalisation of the business world. Last but not least, they benefit from internationally experienced, confident and highly performing employees.
Within the framework of the EU educational programme „Lifelong Learning“ for the period of 2007 to 2013, the European Union, in its programme of promotion of vocational education “Leonardo da Vinci”, has granted special importance to the promotion of mobility.
Therefore, we give apprentices in various projects the opportunity of internships abroad in different European countries.
Within the framework of the pool project DE/08/LLP-LdV/IVT/280422 we offer a total of 54 apprentices in industrial occupations from all over Germany the opportunity of a four-week-long internship abroad. They take place during the period from Septmber 1, 2008 to May 31, 2010, supported by an EU grant in the following countries:
